NATA 2023 is for the great BArch aspirants

NATA 2023 is for students aspiring to study architecture in institutions located in India. Architecture is offered at graduation in colleges located across India and is popularly known as BArch or BArchitecture or Bachelor in Architecture.

Students wishing to study BArch are no less in number and good scores in NATA 2023 will help them gain admission to good colleges located across the country. Colleges in India provide admission into architecture courses in graduation based on scores in NATA.

It is an exam conducted once a year by the Council of Architecture and NATA 2023 is meant to be held this year. The full name of the exam is National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).

Registrations for the test are opened at the appropriate time every year and applications can be submitted after the notification is released. The test was conducted on June 12 and July 7 last year. The dates for registration and application submission are yet to be announced.

Who can apply for NATA 2023

Students who have studied plus two from a recognized educational institute located anywhere in India can apply for the NATA 2023. Students who are appearing for their plus-two exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects of study in the current year may also provisionally appear for NATA 2023.

However, these students have to pass the test and provide proof of it by the time of admission commencement. Good preparation will yield success in the exam.

How to apply

The process to apply for NATA 2023 is online and the official website of the test is to be visited to submit applications. The URL to access the website is ‘https://www.nata.in/’

The URL has to be typed into the browser and the website should be allowed to download. Once the website is downloaded, the link for registration has to be clicked to create an account comprising a username and password.

Once the account is created, candidates can log in to fill out the form and pay the registration fee and submit it. Post submission, candidates have to wait for the successful submission and once the message is obtained, it has to be downloaded and a printout of it has to be taken and preserved for future use.

After the submission

Candidates have to download the hall ticket for NATA 2023 at the appropriate time from the exam website and appear for the test on the date mentioned by the authorities concerned.

The test has to be passed with minimum qualifying marks which are also known as the cutoff score. Cutoff marks are the marks candidates have to get to become eligible for the next phase of the admission process or for final selection.

The test

NATA 2023 will be a computer-based test and questions will be in multiple-choice format. The duration to answer the questions will be 3 hours, subjects for questions are, maths, drawing, physics, general aptitude, and architecture aptitude.

The aptitude test of NATA 2023 also may comprise questions of Multiple Select Type (MSQ), Preferential Choice type (PCQ) and Numerical Answer type (NAQ) and Match the following type (MFQ).

The aptitude of the candidate will be assessed using the following techniques:

• Diagrammatic Reasoning – Tests the ability of logical reasoning, using diagrams and scenarios • Numerical Reasoning – Tests mathematical ability through simple problems
• Verbal Reasoning – Assesses the ability to assess verbal logic.
• Inductive Reasoning – Tests the ability to see patterns and analyze given data
• Situational Judgment – Tests problem-solving ability.
• Logical Reasoning – Tests the ability to recognize patterns, sequences or relationships between shapes and imagery.
• Abstract Reasoning – Will assess general knowledge, and ability to utilize knowledge in new situations.
