Kerala TET 2023 registration: Starts from great 3 April 2023

Kerala TET 2023 registration will start on 3 April 2023 and the last date is 17 April 2023. It is for those who are keen on taking up the job of teaching in schools located across Kerala.

Individuals who wish to apply for teacher jobs in Kerala can appear for this exam. Kerala TET 2023 registration is nothing but applying for the exam.

The admit cards will be available for download from 25 April 2023. Kerala TET 2023 will be conducted on 12 and 15 May 2023. Students must pass the exam with the required qualifying marks to be eligible for the further process.

What is the Kerala TET 2023 exam?

The full name of the exam is Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test, which is also popularly known as KTET. It is a state-level exam that is said to be conducted twice every year and Kerala TET 2023 is meant to be organised this year (2023).

Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan conducts the exam in offline mode and answers have to be registered on a separate answer sheet provided at the test center.

There will be four papers and each paper has to be answered for a duration of 150 minutes. Individuals aiming for teacher jobs in lower primary classes have to appear for Paper 1 (Category 1).

Those trying for teachers’ jobs in upper primary classes have to choose Paper 2 (Category 2) while taking up Kerala TET 2023 registration. Aspirants for teaching jobs in high school classes have to choose Paper 3 (Category 3) while taking up Kerala TET 2023 registration.

Individuals trying for jobs as language teachers, specialist teachers and physical education teachers have to choose Paper 4 (Category 4) while undertaking Kerala TET 2023 registration.

The questions in the exam will be related to Pedagogy, Language proficiency (Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam), English Language proficiency, mathematics, social sciences, and general sciences. The test has to be passed with the required qualifying marks to be eligible for the next process.

Who can take up Kerala TET 2023 registration?

Students who pass the KTET exam can apply for jobs as teachers in lower primary classes (Category 1), upper primary classes (Category 2), high school classes (Category 3) and also as language teachers, specialist teachers and physical education teachers (Category 4).

Category 1
Individuals keen on becoming teachers for lower primary classes should have passed higher secondary or its equivalent with a minimum of 45% pass marks and should have a two-year Trained Teachers Certificate (TTC) to take up Kerala KTET 2023 registration.

Category 2
Students who wish to become teachers for upper primary classes must have passed a degree in any discipline along with a 2-year diploma in elementary education to take up Kerala TET 2023 registration.

Category 3
Students who wish to choose this category while taking up Kerala TET 2023 registration must have passed a degree in any discipline with 45% pass marks at the minimum along with a BEd degree in the related subject.

Category 4
Those who have the required qualifications to apply for the post of language teacher (Hindi, Arabic, Hindi), specialist teachers, and physical education teachers as mentioned in Chapter 31 of Kerala Education Act and Rules can apply.

How to take up Kerala TET 2023 registration?

The process to undertake Kerala TET 2023 registration is online. Candidates have to visit the official website at ‘https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/’ to submit applications.

Once the webpage is available, applicants for Kerala TET 2023 have to click the required link and take up registration to obtain an account comprising a username and password.

Once the account is obtained, candidates can log in and fill out the application form and pay the registration fee and submit it.

Post submission, candidates can obtain a confirmation message indicating successful submission. Once obtained, applicants can download it and take a printout of it.

How to download the hall ticket

Candidates who have successfully completed Kerala TET 2023 registration can alone download the hall ticket for the exam from the official website which can be accessed at ‘https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/’

The URL has to be typed into the browser and the website should be allowed to download. Once the webpage is available, candidates can click the link for the hall ticket, enter their username and password, and submit them to obtain the hall ticket.

The admit card can be downloaded and then a printout of it has to be taken. Applicants have to appear for the exam at the designated test center with the hall ticket.

After the exam

Students have to view the results for the exam, they can visit the official website of the exam at the appropriate time and log in using the credentials they created while taking up Kerala TET 2023 registration.

Post login, the students can view their scorecards. Those who have passed the exam with the required qualifying marks can apply for admission into courses of their choice.
