JEE Mains 2023 is becoming the point of attention and students focused on engineering, architecture, planning (BTech, BArch, BPlan) can aim for the exam. The well-known exam may be featuring in informal discussions among the students and parents circle as of now, as the time moves forward, nuances related JEE Mains 2023 may become more clear.

A clearer picture would emerge with the progress of time. There a few points to be remembered in this regard. The first would be the conducting of board exams related to 10th and 12th classes. Exams for 10th and 12th standards are to be conducted by CBSE, the same must also be held by state education boards of all the states.

Good marks in maths, physics and chemistry are the need if one is to apply for JEE Mains 2023 and enter into engineering. There is more to it, JEE Mains 2023 will have three papers – Paper 1, Paper 2A and Paper 2B. Paper 1 in JEE Mains 2023 is for engineering aspirants. Students who wish to study BArch have to appear for Paper 2A and students focused on BPlan course have to appear for Paper 2B.

Process for conducting board exams may start in last week of December 2022 and they may witness completion in March or April 2023. Completion of board exams- 12th class exams is crucial for JEE Mains 2023, board exams may be over by March 2023, and, that is the time when notification with regards to JEE Mains 2023 will likely be released.

Who can apply?

Students who have passed class 12 exams with maths, physics and chemistry as subjects can apply for JEE Mains 2023. Students focused on biology or biotechnology oriented engineering courses have to pass 12th class tests with biology, physics and chemistry as subjects.

Process to apply for JEE Mains 2023 is online and students have to visit the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) that conducts the test. The official website is accessible at ‘https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/’

Soon after the webpage downloads on clicking the above url, students have to click the appropriate link for registration and create an account comprising username and password. Post account creation, students have to login and fill the application form and pay the registration fees and submit the form.

Post form submission

Once the application form is submitted for JEE Mains 2023, candidates have to wait for message indicating successful submission. Post obtaining message, candidates can download it and take a printout of it.

The exam will be conducted in online mode as a computer based test and the questions related to maths, physics and chemistry have to be answered. Students aiming for architecture/planning courses may also have to answer questions related to creativity, innovation which may require them draw and paint on given themes.

JEE Mains has to be passed with required qualifying marks which is also known as cutoff score. Marks of the students in JEE Mains 2023 have to either be greater than cutoff marks or equal to it. Cutoff marks will be announced either along with the release of JEE Mains 2023 result or shortly after the release of the exam results.

Post passing the test

Students who have passed JEE Mains can apply for studying BE/BTech, BArch, BPlan in NITs, IIITs located across India. Students who have got a score that puts them among the top 2.5 lakh ranks on all India scale can apply for JEE Advanced to get admission in IITs located across India.
