JEE Advanced 2021: Great latest information about the exam

JEE Advanced 2021 information booklet is released on the official website ‘http://jeeadv.ac.in/’ recently.

Students targeting admission in IITs can access the information brochure which is available in English.

JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur at a date which will be decided in due course.

The exam for IIT admission was supposed to be conducted on July 3 this year. However, the date has been changed owing to COVID-19 situation.

While the new date for conducting JEE Advanced 2021 will be announced at the appropriate time, students can refer the information booklet on the exam and gearup to apply for the exam.

Even the list of documents which students should upload while filling the form for JEE Advanced 2021 has been released and is available on the official website.

Information brochure is in English and has details about the exam, courses offered at various IITs across the country, how to fill the application form for JEE Advanced 2021 and others.

Students have to visit the official website of JEE Advanced 2021 exam ‘http://jeeadv.ac.in/’

Soon after the webpage downloads, individuals can see a button ‘Information Brochure (English)’ below the banner image on the official website.

Students can click the button and another webpage having a link titled ‘Information Brochure (English)’ would appear.

They can press ‘Information Brochure (English)’ to access the booklet.

JEE Advanced 2021Or, applicants can click the url ‘https://drive.google.com/file/d/13yIwj4tc7G8pVedFdI1q-Fykhp0NJ-x1/view’ directly to access the brochure regarding JEE Advanced 2021.

Documents
Individuals willing to know about the documents to be uploaded while filling the application form for JEE Advanced 2021 can click the above mentioned offcial website address ‘http://jeeadv.ac.in/’

Soon after the webpage downloads, they have to click the button ‘the list of documents’ located below the banner to know about the documents to be uploaded.

The button for documents will be situated next to JEE Advanced 2021 information brochure button.

Clicking the button will reveal the documents that are to be uploaded by Indian and foreign applicants of JEE Advanced 2021.

About the exam
JEE Advanced 2021 is organised every year by one of the IITs.

Students who pass this exam get admission to study various programmes in IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) located across the country.

The selection procedure
Individuals who pass the JEE Advanced 2021 with the required marks have to register for the counselling conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

Students have to register for the counselling and choose the course of their interest and the IIT they want to study.

Once the seat is allotted, candidates can pay the fee at the institute he or she is allotted the seat and then join it to study the course.

Counselling is held in various rounds, students who dont get the course of their choice in the first round, can try to get the course in subsequent rounds of counselling.

JEE Advanced 2021The academic programmes
Candidates who pass JEE Advanced 2021 will get admission into undergraduate, integrated master’s Integrated Master‟s or Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Sciences or Architecture.

Applicants who pass JEE Advanced 2021 with good score and wish to study architecture have to register for AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) which will be open for registration soon after results for JEE Advanced are declared.

In some of the IITs, students enrolled into the 4-year Bachelor‟s program have the option to pursue B.Tech. (Honors) and/or B.Tech. with Minors.

Point to remember
All IITs do not offer all the programmes (courses) mentioned in the information brochure.

Candidates targeting JEE Advanced 2021 can visit the official websites of various IITs and know about courses offered there.

The programs that will be offered in the academic year 2021-22 will be announced
during seat allocation (i.e. at the stage of filling-in of choices for admission).

An academic year usually starts in the month of July and ends in the month of June of
the next year.

Point to remember-2
IITs offer various courses, not all admissions are done based on JEE Advanced exam.

Admissions into programmes like BDes (Bachelors in Design), MDes (Masters in Design), Joint MTech-PhD, Joint MSc-PhD, PhD is done following a different procedure.

So, the information brochure related to JEE Advaced 2021 will only be showing those courses whose admissions are done based on JEE Advanced exam.

JEE Advanced 2021Eligibility
Candidates willing to apply for JEE Advanced 2021 have to pass plus-two with maths, physics and chemistry as subjects in the first phase.

They have to appear for JEE Mains exam after clearing the plus-two and get a score to secure a place among the top 2.5 lakh rank winners.

Candidates who have got ranks among the top 2.5 lakh rank holders can apply for JEE Advanced 2021.

Point to remember
Candidate wishing to apply for JEE Advanced 2021 must have appeared for Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2020 or 2021 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination, for the first
time in 2019 or earlier, are not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2021.

Age limit
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996.

Five years age relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1991.

The passmark
Applying for JEE Advanced 2021 usually requires students to pass plus-two with 70 percent pass marks.

However, keeping in view the postponing of plus-two exams owing to COVID-19 situation and subsequent assessment using an alternative method, students can receive an exception from having the required 70 percent passmarks in plus-two this time also.

Last year too, the same exemption was provided taking into consideration the COVID-19 situation.

How to apply
The procedure to apply for JEE Advanced 2021 is online.

Candidates have to visit the official website for JEE Advanced 2021 ‘http://jeeadv.ac.in/’ and click the link for application.

The link for application submission will be made active on the website at the appropriate time.

Post clicking the link for application submission, individuals have to login with help of the JEE Main credentials (username and password) and start applying for the exam.

Applicants have to provide the required information, upload the needed documents, pay the registration fee and submit the application form for JEE Advanced 2021.

Post login using the credentials, applicants have to verify if they have to provide any extra information.

In case there is any extra information to be provided, applicants have to provide it while filling the form.

The registration fee

Indian candidates
The registration fee is Rs 1400 for female candidates and applicants from SC/ST/PwD category categories.

The General category candidates have to pay Rs 2800 as registration fee while applying for JEE Advanced 2021.

Foreign candidates
Applicants from SAARC countries have to pay USD 75 and those coming from non-SAARC countries have to pay USD 150.

Point to remember
Foreign candidates include even those Persons of Indian Origin(PIO) or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).

# 10th standard marksheet

# 12th class marksheet or equivalent or provisional in case applicants are yet to receive the marksheet

# Community certificate for candidates of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS candidates

# PwD certificate (if applicable)

# Scribe request letter (in case candidate requested for it)

# OCI/PIO card for the candidates who are OCIs or PIOs

# Gazette notification if candidates have changed their name, their name is not the same as mentioned in their 10th class marksheet

When to apply
The link for submitting applications for JEE Advanced 2021 will be made active after completion of JEE Mains 2021.

The first two editions of JEE Mains for this year are conducted, April and May editions are yet to be conducted.

Link for submitting JEE Advanced 2021 applications will be made active after a couple of days post release of results for the fourth edition of JEE Mains exam.

Important dates
The dates for submitting application for JEE Advanced 2021 and subsequent download of halltickets will be intimated at the official website in due course.

Exam pattern
JEE Advanced 2021 test comprises two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2 of three hours duration each.

Appearing in both the papers is compulsory. The exam will be conducted as computer based exam.

The papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) will have questions related to maths, physics and chemistry.

The questions would be from lessons in physics, chemistry and mathematics taught at plus-two level in schools located across India.

Candidates have to answer each paper in three hours time, PwD candidates would get four hours each for both the papers.
