IIT Guwahati: Great new course in 2023

IIT Guwahati has launched a new course and it is BTech Energy Engineering. The objective behind the launch is to provide the students with the skills and knowledge required to foster a career in the energy sector.

It is all about the energy sector and it is known that a sound economy requires a vibrant energy sector. Sustaining the energy sector requires qualified personnel. Students who are focused on a career in the energy sector can aim for Energy Engineering.

What does this engineering program teach? It teaches about different energy systems, heat transfer, engineering thermodynamics, fuels, combustion and reaction engineering, solar energy technology, environmental studies and policy, and so on.

Energy Engineering is a course of a four-year duration and has eight semesters. It is being offered by the School of Energy Science and Engineering at IIT Guwahati from the academic year 2022-2023. Details about this academic program can be obtained from the official website of IIT Guwahati.

Who can apply for BTech Energy Engineering

Students willing to study this academic course must have passed plus two in the science stream from a recognized educational institution located anywhere in the country. Subjects in plus-two must be mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Process of selection

Students must apply for JEE Mains exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and pass it with the required rank that comes under the top 2.5 lakh ranks on a national level to be eligible for JEE Advanced.

The second phase comprises appearing for JEE Advanced and passing it with the required qualifying marks. Post passing JEE Advanced, candidates can take part in the further process which involves a personal interview round.
